What we offer

Do the engineering unit standards for schools (Manufacturing Pathway Skills) supersede existing industry unit standards currently offered for Level 1 and 2 engineering or are they offered alongside them?

The 6 new standards have been specifically developed for in school use and delivery, so schools will have the ability to offer a sustainable programme; that includes larger chunkier standards that enable a good number of credits and projects across Level 2 and Level 3 and pathways into Apprenticeships.

A large gap has been identified by industry- in learners coming through to industry from schools- where basic mathematical understanding and drawing skills are lacking.

Many existing industry unit standards in the Engineering Domain are no longer suitable or are expiring and do not pathway into a Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship.
